CLIENT's chips -- which include amplifiers, data converters, and timing and switching ICs -- translate physical data such as temperature, pressure, and sound into digital signals for electronic processing. The company's products are used by thousands of electronics manufacturers in products including computers and peripherals, industrial controls, telecommunications and networking equipment, military systems, medical devices, instrumentation, and video displays. More than two-thirds of CLIENT's sales come from outside the US.

REPORTS TO: Managing Director, Signal Processing and Converters B.U.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering degree.  BSEE desirable.
  • 5 – 10 years sales management for a semiconductor company
  • Detailed understanding of analog products, especially ADC’s
  • Able to travel and do business in both Mainland China and Taiwan
  • Fluent communicator in English and Mandarin Chinese
  • Self-starter

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project responsibility:
    • Manage the type-1 activity in Asia for the SP&C BU. 
    • Understand how our products are used, what are the key requirements, do we offer the ideal solution, how are these requirements going to change in the future, what are the drivers for the change, are we positioned adequately to win when the next generation design change happens
    • Make sure all sockets at new and on-going projects are identified and listed in the database and project sheets of the FAE’s
    • Penetrate projects and sockets after design win and handover to account manager to ensure bookings and coordination with CM’s
  • Business Plans: Support and help BU to generate LRPs (Long Range Plans). This includes
    • Market validation (TOP5 to TOP10 customers in the different market segments)
    • Customer contact (build contact and relationship key people/decision makers at different customers and meet them on a regular base)
    • Product validation Validate old or new definitions as needed. Validate product proposals from other regions as needed to see if customers for the same product exist in the Asian market as well
  • Product proposals/validation
    • Make the FAE’s are aware of what BU is focusing on and submit relevant proposals for Quarterly New Product meetings.
    • Have the field applications engineers in Asia to generate high-quality product proposals.  
    • Validate the market need for these proposals by identifying other customers in the region or world that have similar requirements. 
    • Estimate the world wide TAM for these products, identify key specs to ensure CLIENT will win and differentiate itself, identify competition. 
    • Introduce new products to all Asian customers that may have an application requiring such products.
    • Obtain feedback and either have the FAE get the new part designed in or get us feedback as what’s wrong with the product
  • Quarterly New Product reviews
    • Pre-evaluate Asia product proposals and discuss with FAE’s/customers
    • Attend and contribute to quarterly meetings
  • FAE and AM support/training
    • Train AM’s and FAE’s in Asia on new and existing products and marketing strategies to win all possible sockets. 
    • Focus the AM’s and FAE’s in the same direction with BU. 
    • Make sure that FAEs are promoting the best product for the application
    • Investigate missing sockets and make sure that they are on the list for next CC. 
    • Follow up on all sample requests in the region, ensure customers receive samples and get feedback from customers to validate definition. 
  • Quote and Pricing responsibility
    • Support BU with quote follow-up (local sales, apps, inside sales and customers)
    • Get involved in strategic price/socket negotiations if needed
    • Ensure design wins by supporting BU needs (information like target price, justification for price target, competition part number, over-all solution, etc.)
  • Market Research: 
    • Identify new emerging markets and identify new emerging customer in that markets
    • Work together with Sales organization to bring these customer Schedule A in time

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Written and spoken fluency in an Asian lanugage and English.
