# 913 Government Relations Manager, Invention Company
Client is the leading innovator in trusted computing, DRM, and Digital Media technologies. Client is currently expanding its operations in China, and are looking for a senior business development professional to join the team. Client is looking to hire an experienced and energetic business development specialist for its Beijing office, reporting to the General Manager of Client China. The primary responsibility of this position is to build government and business relationships in digital media and trusted computing. He or she should be familiar with the value chains of the Chinese media industry and the Chinese information security industry, and have strong working relationship with Chinese government agencies. This work/relationship is highly confidential.
Responsibilities:
- Work to establish relationships at the executive level with the Chinese government—for example, SARFT (State Authority for Radio, Film, & Television) or the Ministry of Information and Infrastructure
- Evangelize Client’s services within various Chinese government agencies
- Work mostly autonomously, as a solo ambassador for Client
- Discover latest technology initiatives
- Train other Client executives on the relationships/protocol/methodologies necessary to succeed in government relationships in China
Qualifications:
- Graduate of one of China’s top schools, such as Tsinghua or Beijing Univ.
- A ‘political insider’, with existing contacts with senior management in the Chinese telecommunications or media industry, with companies such as China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom, China Netcom, CCTV, and SMG
- Must understand technology and innovation.
- Previous experience presenting new media strategies to Chinese government agencies. Ideally, prior experience working with government bureaus such as SDPC, CPC, SARFT, and MIIT
- Knowledge of Internet and digital media technology or security technology in Trust Management and PKI
- Previous involvement with Chinese industry standards, such as CCSA, IGRS, China DRM Forum, and CMMB
- A strategic thinker with strong communication skills.
- International work experience or extensive experience working with non-China companies/countries.
